My Story
Born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal, I moved to Spain to earn my Doctorate in Biology - Microbiology from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Following that, I embarked on a global corporate career that brought me to Switzerland. Throughout my professional journey, I've undertaken various roles, progressing from Sigma-Aldrich (now Merck Group) to Nobel Biocare, Roche, and Vifor Pharma Group (now CSL Vifor), among others. I've found joy in tackling challenges, whether it's organizing global conferences, spearheading impactful awareness campaigns, or initiating social media activities for highly regulated companies
One standout moment for me was in 2007 when I played a crucial role in planning and executing the scientific program of Nobel Biocare's World Conference in Las Vegas, NE (USA). I oversawover 640 speakers and more than 100 panel sessions during a 5-day lonf conference. In 2013, I launched an award-winning digital educational program for the medical and patient community, addressing iron deficiency across therapeutic areas. The inception of Iron Deficiency Day, in 2016, marked another significant milestone. My impact extended beyond corporate walls as I pioneered patient-centric digital campaigns, fostering awareness, and encouraging patient-doctor conversations. As a subject matter expert for social media, I developed and implemented guidelines for enterprise-wide use, covering pharmacovigilance, MLR guidelines, and corporate governance
In 2019, I've transitioned to being an independent contractor, focusing on scientific content generation, medical marketing, and disease awareness initiatives. My ability to collaborate with diverse organizations, from startups to big pharma, speaks to my adaptability and expertise in the life sciences industry. Notable clients in my portfolio include Sonova, BC Platforms, Boehringer Ingelheim, PharmaBiome, and MSD Merck Sharp & Dohme.
